Spring Troll Fisheries Underway
Spring Troll Fisheries have been in progress since mid-April, with catch rates increasing in recent weeks. A total of about 7,758 kings have been landed to date (through May 28) Southeast-wide. NSRAA contribution estimates stand at 686 fish, or about 9% of the total harvest. We track the progress of the fisheries on our website on the 2015 Spring Troll Fishery page. Information will be updated several times each week through June. You can also find links to the ADF&G Spring Troll page which provide more detailed fishery information.

NSRAA’s 2015 Spring Board of Directors Meeting will be held on Wednesday & Thursday, March 11-12, 2015 in Juneau at the DIPAC Visitor Center. Meetings begin at 9 am each day. The public is invited to attend. Topics will include NSRAA’s FY16 Budget, planning for the 2015 season and beyond, program updates and review of recent Board of Fish actions. Eggtakes for Medvejie were completed Monday at 87 million eggs. This meets all Medvejie program goals. An additional 2 million eggs were taken for SJ Hatchery. It appears there are about 15,000 adults excess to broodstock needs. These fish will be harvested for cost recovery or will move up to raceways and harvested. The fisheries at Deep Inlet will continue at least through the end of the month.
